Description:

Neurodegenerative diseases of aging are among the least understood and most undertreated diseases, and place a large and increasing burden on society. Addressing this challenge requires innovative approaches to accelerating treatments. Canada has a world-class neuroscience research community engaged in solving this problem. Catalyzing and supporting these researchers can help lead to meaningful, timely breakthroughs.

To be eligible, projects must fall into one of these two categories to be considered: - Preclinical to Phase III development of a therapeutic - Development of tools that help accelerate the development of therapeutics e.g., animal models, imaging techniques or reagents, biomarkers or diagnostics

Application Details: Application requires a one to two page Letter of Intent due Monday, March 25th by 11:00AM EST and should be submitted by email to info@westonneuroscience.ca. Applicants whose LOIs meet the RFP review criteria and are favourably reviewed will be invited to submit a Proposal. These applicants will receive the Proposal instructions and templates with their invitation. The review process will run through the spring with awards announced in the summer.Only researchers at or above the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent are eligible to apply as the Principal Investigator (PI). Collaborators must be at the post-doctoral level or above.
NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
