Parkinson's UK Innovation Grants explore bold new ideas that could lead to exciting breakthroughs in the causes, treatment and cure of Parkinson's. We want to fund high-risk, high-reward research that tests new and original ideas, tackling major scientific or technical hurdles in the field of Parkinson's.

Our research strategy has four main aims: understanding why nerve cells die in Parkinson's, developing new animal models of Parkinson's, faster, better drug screening, finding biomarkers for earlier diagnosis. Our four core priorities will guide our future research funding and lead us closer to a cure. But we?ll continue to support innovative Parkinson?s research across all areas ? including applications that focus on improving life for people with Parkinson?s now.

Application Details: We encourage applications from basic scientists, clinicians and healthcare professionals. This includes physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, alternative therapists, nurses and practitioners.Grant applications to Parkinson's UK are made through the charity's online grant application system, which can be accessed at https:// research.parkinsons.org.uk/ One signed hard copy must be submitted with copies of relevant approvals (up to one week after the deadline for electronic applications). All coapplicant(s) and collaborator(s) original signatures must be submitted. Details of any collaboration should be included and a letter confirming agreement from each collaborator should be submitted. If the project includes work with patients please ensure a letter of written support is supplied from a clinical collaborator. The signed hard copy should be sent (up to one week after the deadline for electronic applications) to: Research and Innovation Directorate, Parkinson?s UK, 215 Vauxhall Bridge Road, London SW1V 1EJ Only one publication in press is permitted to be cited in the research proposal and this should be directly relevant to the application. Reprints should not be included.
NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
