Description:

The CMPA Grant Program provides funding for research projects aimed at improving safe medical care and the quality of healthcare for Canadians by enabling physicians to practice safely. All CMPA members, including PGY residents and fellows, are eligible to apply. The principal investigator must be a CMPA member.

The CMPA encourages proposals to improve teaching and learning for safe medical care in Canadian medical undergraduate, residency, and CME/CPD programs. Interprofessional collaboration and education are encouraged. Proposals may include the development of an educational program or initiative, but must also have a research component. The research component should be aimed at improving the education knowledge base (e.g. how to conduct needs assessments or evaluate the impact of an educational initiative).

Application Details:

All proposals for the CMPA Grant Program must use the application form found on the CMPA website. The proposal should be no longer than 10 single-spaced pages, excluding these instructions and appendices. Font should be Arial 12 point. Only electronic submissions will be accepted. Applications and any supporting materials must be sent via email by the deadline, as a Microsoft? Word file or a single Adobe Acrobat? PDF file. No late submissions or submissions sent by regular mail, courier, or facsimile will be accepted. Submissions must follow the format shown on the application and include the information as specified. Send the completed proposal as an email attachment to grants-subventions@cmpa.org.

Projects must be completed within 18 months after funding is provided, or after approval from an ethics committee, unless special arrangements have been made with the CMPA.

CMPA DOES NOT FUND INDIRECT COSTS

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
