Subject Areas:
Description:	The New Ideas Grant will support projects at the discovery level in the area of stem cell and regenerative medicine research with a goal to foster cutting-edge research in stem cell biology and/or technology. The project can target areas including but not limited to: basic molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying stem cell properties and behaviours; stem cell or reprogrammed cell-based in vitro models to gain insight into disease mechanisms; or stem cell or reprogrammed cell studies leading to novel therapies. There must be clear evidence of achievable short-term goals leading to a long-term goal for clinical or commercial activities. The New Ideas Grants are up to $50,000 CDN in value for seven months (Dec 1/15 to June 30/16). Projects will need to be completed (and funds spent) within the seven-month period indicated above.

Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
