Description: |
The C-SPIN - Bayer Junior Faculty Fellowship will provide recognition and salary support to outstanding Canadian atrial fibrillation or stroke researchers (including physicians, nurses, and non-clinical trainees) early in their careers, and provide a reliable supply of future Canadian leaders in this field. To achieve this objective the Fellowship will provide bridge funding for a final academic training year and/or support for faculty members within the first 5 years of an appointment to a Canadian university. The C-SPIN-BAYER Fellows will be exceptional candidates who will become leaders in academic medicine in Canada. Core support of the fellowship is provided jointly by CSPIN and Bayer Healthcare with $25,000 from CSPIN and $25,000 from Bayer. There will be a firm requirement for annual matching funds from the prospective university or institutional employer in the amount of $25,000.00 per year |

Application Details: |
The candidate will be a permanent resident, Canadian citizen or actively pursuing such status. The candidate will have completed or be nearing completion of a doctoral degree, usually an MD or PhD. Individuals pursuing postdoctoral studies will be eligible to apply. The candidate must have secured a position in an excellent academic training program, and have a written commitment for a faculty position following completion of that training program or: The candidate will be in the first five(5) years of a junior faculty position with a substantial (>50%) proportion of time committed to research.Forward the completed application and attachments by December 15 to:
