Human Research Ethics

The office of Human Research Ethics, on behalf of Western's Research Ethics Boards (REB), manages the approval and monitoring process for the use of humans in research at the University and its affiliated hospitals and research institutes. All research involving humans conducted by faculty, staff or students at Western or its affiliated hospitals or research institutes must be approved by a Western-sanctioned review board.

*Please note the Office of Human Research Ethics will be closed in accordance with Western's Holiday Closure from December 22, 2017 to January 2, 2018.
In accordance with this closure any submissions received after December 4, 2017 at 3:00p.m. may not be fully reviewed by our office until the new year.
