Have questions about teaching with technology at Western? We have answers!

On Wednesday, August 30th, from 9:00-3:00pm, visit room 121 in the Teaching Support Centre where staff from the TSC and the Instructional Technology Resource Centre (ITRC) will be available to help provide evidence-based answers to your pressing academic technology questions.

In addition to any of your own questions, we will be ready to help you with:

  • Considerations for designing your OWL course site, including:
    • How to get set-up with your course site.
    • How to create groups.
    • How best to organize course content to support student learning.
    • How the new Gradebook works.
    • How to use the revised Lesson tool.
  • Introducing you to iClicker, Western's new audience-response system.
  • Suggestions on the best institutionally-supported tools to integrate into OWL.
  • A recommendation for a eLearning tool, tailored to your class.
  • Steps to set up a Virtual Classroom in your OWL course site.
  • Incorporating a technology into your class, even if you don't know where to start.

Help will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis, but to help us predict demand, please let us know if you're planning on coming with a question: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScKE8Ns-vD-HSXoS4xrRYfzFniw1GrIw5XmPiNy2C-SBL7YeQ/viewform?usp=sf_link
