Kathy Slade is an artist, writer and curator based in Vancouver, BC. Her art practice includes video, photography, embroidery and sculpture, with sources ranging from cult films and punk rock music to literary classics and recent art history. Slade frequently uses machine embroidery on fabric to reconfigure her allusions and frame her ideas. Her work has been exhibited in Canada, China, Europe, and the United States. Recently she was awarded the prestigious VIVA award.
