Survivor Workshop Series
These newly implemented group sessions are designed to foster a sense of community in a non-judgemental, inclusive environment for survivors. Join us as we explore topics that intimately impact survivors, such as self-care, pleasure, coping, and normalizing unique healing experiences.
Normalizing Responses to Trauma
This workshop encourages participants to explore the common responses that the body can have after experiencing gender-based and sexual violence. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about normalizing responses to trauma and how to challenge the stigma that trauma survivors often experience.
This session will take place Thursday, October 19 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
If you would prefer not to attend the workshop, but would like to receive a resource instead, email: gbsv.edu@uwo.ca.
Healing & Self-Compassion
This workshop explores the complex journey of healing and learning more about how to practice better self-care. Participants will have the opportunity to build skills surrounding self-compassion, self-trust and intimacy with the self.
This session will take place Thursday, November 16 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
If you would prefer not to attend the workshop, but would like to receive a resource instead, email: gbsv.edu@uwo.ca.
Navigating Intimacy with Others
This workshop explores the complex ways that survivors often respond to intimacy with others after experiencing gender-based and sexual violence. Participants will have an opportunity to learn more about how to identify their own needs and desires and how to set boundaries in relationships with others.
This session will take place Thursday, January 25 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
If you would prefer not to attend the workshop, but would like to receive a resource instead, email: gbsv.edu@uwo.ca.
Moving Forward with Intention
This workshop encourages participants to consider ways to engage in self-growth while living in a society that still stigmatizes experiences of gender-based and sexual violence. Participants will have an opportunity to explore self-empowerment and how to exist within a society that perpetuates rape culture, patriarchy and misogyny.
This session will take place Thursday, March 7 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
If you would prefer not to attend the workshop, but would like to receive a resource instead, email: gbsv.edu@uwo.ca.
