What is your favourite thing about Arts & Humanities?

My favourite thing about A&H and my program are the communities that come with them. I have met so many people with similar qualities and passions that made making friends so much easier and made me feel much more welcome within the community. I also was a part of the A&H soph team for 2020-21 which elevated the experience even more.

What is a memorable moment of your studies?

So far, some of my favourite memories include being a soph as mentioned before as well as being on the A&H student council. Both of these groups were like second families and provided safe spaces as well as comfortable friendships that made studying at Western even more enjoyable than it already is.

What advice would you offer first-year students?

I’d tell first years not to hold back when it comes to involvement. If there’s an event that you think you want to go to, then go! If there’s a group you’re thinking about joining or a team you want to try out for, do it! The more you do what you desire during your time at Western, the more you’ll enjoy your university experience as a whole.

Why should students get involved?

Being a part of the A&H faculty allowed me to join the soph team and the council, which heavily assisted me in my career. The volunteer experience that comes from sophing and being on student council introduced my work ethic to a variety of different employers and I feel helped me land the recent summer job I had.
