Cell Biology of Lectins, Glycobiology, Cancer

The main areas of my research interests include the following: Biological Activity and Functions of Animal and Plant Lectins, Glycobiology, Molecular Mechanisms of Cellular Stress Responses, Cellular Signaling, Reactive Oxygen Species, Redox-Regulation of Cellular Functions, Cancer Biology, Lymphangiogenic Factors, Innate Immunity. In more specific context, we are focusing on the complex network of beta-galactoside-binding proteins (galectins) in cells including tissue-specific galectins and their role in cellular differentiation.

Prospective Students

Please send your resume and unofficial transcript to Dr. Timoshenko (atimoshe@uwo.ca) if are interested in cell and molecular biology of galectins
