    WSRC/Thompson/Engineering/South Valley Parking Lot Construction

    Western has started construction on the Utility & Tunnel Renewal project in the Alumni/Thompson parking lot. A temporary entrance and exit to the lot, off of Western Road, is now open for accessible parking ONLY. Only right hand turns are permitted into and to exit the lot. Please do NOT turn left to enter or exit the lot. Additional parking is available in the South Valley Huron parking lots. All Western parking rules apply. Pedestrian access will continue to be available through the construction, although the location of the pathway may shift at times. For more information read full story and see map. (Read full entry)

    Campus Recreation Closed Aug 31-Sept 4 for Student Staff Training

    Campus Recreation and the Western Student Recreation Centre will be closed starting Monday, August 31 for our annual week of student staff training. Facilities and programming inside the WSRC will close on Sunday, Aug 30, 2026 at 5pm and reopen on Saturday, September 4 at 9:00am. (Read full entry)

    Campus Recreation - 2026 Western Staff/Faculty Summer Membership Offer

    This summer, Western Campus Recreation has an incredible special membership offer for Western faculty and staff. Unlimited access to the Western Student Recreation Centre - WSRC - gyms, cardio, equipment, weights, drop-in sports, and pool - note: Pool opens May 11.     Western Campus Recreation - Planned Maintenance Closures, May 2026

    Western Campus Recreation will be completing its annual facility maintenance and upgrades in early May at the Western Student Recreation Centre (WSRC). Closure Schedule: WSRC Building: May 4–8, 2026; Pool: May 1–10, 2026.     Service Interruption Notice: Outdoor Stairs beside WSRC

    Western University will be closing the south staircase (beside WSRC) between the South Valley Parking Lot and the Alumni/Thompson Parking Lot from April 27 to August 28, 2026. Pedestrians will be detoured to the north staircase. This closure is required in order to improve services to multiple campus buildings by constructing a new service corridor for campus utilities, and to allow excavation for new and temporary services required for continuous utility operations on campus.  (Read full entry)
