Graduate Diploma in Climate Risk Assessment and Opportunity
This program was developed between the Faculties of Engineering, Science and Social Science and the Ivey Business School. A multidisciplinary program, it allows learners to develop in-depth knowledge in an area of specialization of their choosing, (Engineering, Business, Science and Social Science) enabling them to gain discipline-specific expertise in climate risk assessment, adaptation and mitigation.
Why Study Climate Risk?
Climate change is impacting our daily lives on a scale never seen before. Losses due to extreme weather (i.e., rain/flood, high wind, hail, wildland fire) have been growing at an alarming rate across the globe. A recent report published by the Swiss Re Institute predicted that with the current global warming trajectory, by 2050, the economic losses due to climate change could be up to 10% of the total global economic value.
The uncertainty of future climate changes requires consideration of a risk-based approach. Past climate indicators and data will no longer represent a stationary system for infrastructure, economic activities, and societal aspects.
Program Overview
Students are required to successfully complete a total of four courses to earn a Graduate Diploma in Climate Risk Assessment and Opportunity.

This is a part-time program which allows for flexibility with your current career and schedule by offering fully online courses each term. You can take one course each term or customize your graduate diploma to your own availability!
