Academic Supports

Learning Development & Success

The Learning Development & Success team offers resources and supports to all students at Western. Staff members help students cope with the demands of post-secondary learning, helping to identify strengths and develop new skills and strategies for success. We also work with students to alleviate academic stress, and to develop positive motivation and confidence toward learning. This service is available for successful students wanting to maintain their already strong skills and those having academic difficulties.

Peer Tutoring (PAL Centre)

The Peer Assisted Learning Centre is the place to develop effective learning strategies and get free, one-to-one, course-specific help. Help is provided by Learning Peers who are trained, upper-year Western students who have excelled academically, and are ready to help you SUCCEED.

One-on-One appointments with a Student Learning Specialist

Undergraduate students can book an appointment with a Student Learning Specialist, to discuss ways to reach your academic goals. During the appointment you can receive help with areas such as planning to use your time more effectively, preparing for tests and exams using effective study strategies, taking useful notes in a lecture and much more!

Learning Skills Workshops

Are you ready to study smarter, not harder? Join a Learning Development and Success workshop to boost your study skills.
