CIHR Barer Flood Prize for Health Services and Policy
This is a career achievement award that honours and recognizes an exceptional researcher in the area of health services and policy research who has created a seminal body of work that has had a substantial impact on health services and policy research, policy and/or care delivery. The prize consists of a certificate, an opportunity to deliver a keynote lecture and $25,000 in research grant funding
The Nomination Process
Candidates must be nominated by a member of the Canadian health research community and endorsed by the executicve head of the institution.
Nominees must:

have at least 10 years of experience as an independent investigator;

have held a full-time position within a Canadian academic, hospital, not-for-profit or governmental institution, or affiliated research institution for at least five continuous years.
A full nomination package will consist of:
- the nomination form
- a letter of nomination providing the principal reasons for which the nominee merits consideration for the prize (3 pages)
- letter of endorsement from the university president
- a signed letter from the nominee accepting the nomination
- a short biography of the nominee (2 pages maximum)
- three additional letters of support (one must be from an international expert)
- Common CV
- CIHR consent forms:
- the names and contact information of 6 individuals whom CIHR might contact for an assessment of the nominee's suitability of the prize
Deadline
The nomination submission deadline is Monday, May 1, 2016. As candidates must be endorsed by the executive head of their institution, nominators must forward nomination packages to Research Development & Services for review and endorsement by Monday, April 24, 2017.
