Description: |
The objective of the competition is to increase the number of researchers and clinician-scientists in Canadian universities and research institutions devoted specifically to women's heart and/or brain health and, in so doing, expand research initiatives in this field. In the context of this award, heart and/or brain health research refers to research addressing heart conditions, stroke, and vascular cognitive impairment. For each successful Doctoral award recipient,
Heart and Stroke will contribute a maximum of $45,000 ($15,000 per year for up to three (3) years), and
the award recipient?s institution will contribute at least the same amount. The maximum amount contributed
by the award recipient?s institution will be determined by the institutional stipend policy for doctoral trainees.
Funds from the award recipient?s institution must come from non-Heart & Stroke related sources of funding. |

Applications must be submitted no later than 4:00 PM ET September 10, 2024 using CIRCUlink ? Heart
& Stroke?s online research programs portal.
Signatures Page: Applicants are expected to download the Signatures Page from CIRCUlink and secure
the required signatures (institutional signature, supervisor(s) signature, and applicant signature). The
institutional signature must be by an individual with signing authority for the institution.

NOTE: All research-related grant applications, letters of intent, contracts and agreements requiring an institutional or organizational signature must submit related documents to the Office of Research Services for review and approval. Requests for institutional signature should be received a minimum of five to ten business days before the
posted Sponsor deadline. Please see Western Research's website regarding the institutional signatory process for more details. Specific opportunities may have their own timelines and requirements for submissions. A ROLA Proposal submitted by the PI and bearing department and faculty approvals is required. |
