Description: |
The premier award for orthopaedic research in Canada, the J. ?douard Samson Award, recognizes the
best career orthopaedic research over a period of five (5) years or more at a Canadian centre. This
$30,000 award is intended to promote further research by the recipient. The recipient will present
his/her research at the Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association (presentation
opportunity to be determined). The award consists of an educational grant and a personal research grant to be used by the recipient at the Canadian institution where they currently reside. |

Application Details: |
All requests for funding are to be vetted through Western Research prior to submission, regardless of the sponsor's requirements. Application items should be submitted electronically to the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation at
research@canorth.org. The email subject line should state: Samson Application [Last Name]

NOTE: All research-related grant applications, letters of intent, contracts and agreements requiring an institutional or organizational signature must submit related documents to the Office of Research Services for review and approval. Requests for institutional signature should be received a minimum of five to ten business days before the
posted Sponsor deadline. Please see Western Research's website regarding the institutional signatory process for more details. Specific opportunities may have their own timelines and requirements for submissions. A ROLA Proposal submitted by the PI and bearing department and faculty approvals is required. |
