Description:

The CORL program was founded in 2006 to help ensure the legacy of Canada?s world-class status in orthopaedic research, thereby ensuring orthopaedic patients reap the reward of new techniques and treatments made possible through research grants from this program. The total number of awards each year will be variable, based on available funding. Individual CORL awards are in the amount of $20,000.

CORL funds are to be awarded to novel short-term (1-2 years) research projects which could include: New investigator starting a novel research project or Experienced investigator seeking funding for a pilot project

Application Details:

All requests for funding are to be vetted through Western Research prior to submission, regardless of the sponsor's requirements.

Applications should be submitted via email to the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation at research@canorth.org. The email subject line should state: CORL Application ? [Last Name] Although there is no spot for an institutional signature, ORS is obligated to review the grant prior to submission to the sponsor.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE EXPENSES

NOTE: All research-related grant applications, letters of intent, contracts and agreements requiring an institutional or organizational signature must submit related documents to the Office of Research Services for review and approval. Requests for institutional signature should be received a minimum of five to ten business days before the posted Sponsor deadline. Please see Western Research's website regarding the institutional signatory process for more details. Specific opportunities may have their own timelines and requirements for submissions. A ROLA Proposal submitted by the PI and bearing department and faculty approvals is required.
