Description: |
Arthur B. McDonald Fellowships recognize early-stage academic researchers in the natural sciences and engineering and support them to enhance their research capacity, so that they can become leaders in their field and inspire others. NSERC awards up to six McDonald Fellowships each year. Candidates must have held an independent academic position for 10 years or less.
The 10-year eligibility window is adjusted to take into account eligible delays in research or periods of inactivity (for example, due to parental leave, bereavement, illness, or delays related to COVID-19). |

Application Details: |
Candidates must self-nominate however, the institution confirms that you are eligible and explains how the institution will fully relieve you of teaching and administrative responsibilities while you hold the award. Western must certify each nomination and can only certify six. Please send your notice to self-nominate: email rwprizes@uwo.ca expressing your intention to submit a self-nomination.

NOTE: All research-related grant applications, letters of intent, contracts and agreements requiring an institutional or organizational signature must submit related documents to the Office of Research Services for review and approval. Requests for institutional signature should be received a minimum of five to ten business days before the
posted Sponsor deadline. Please see Western Research's website regarding the institutional signatory process for more details. Specific opportunities may have their own timelines and requirements for submissions. A ROLA Proposal submitted by the PI and bearing department and faculty approvals is required. |
