Description: |
Resident Research Grant proposals should be short-term, concise projects, which have been largely developed by the Resident. The majority of the work involved in completing the research must be done by the resident who will be referred to as the Principal Investigator of the project under the supervision of a physician with an academic appointment (the "supervisor"). The resident/principal investigator must explain in the application what her/his role is in the proposed study. All applications will be funded on an equal weighting basis of scientific merit and clinical relevance. |

Application Details: |
Applications for the Foundation's Resident Research Grants must be in one of the following three areas: Clinical Research, Medical Education R&D and Health Systems Research.
To be eligible for a Resident Research Grant, the Resident / Principal Investigator must meet each of the following criteria:
1. salary as a Resident is provided by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care 2. registration in a recognized program leading certification by the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons or the College of Family Physicians. Residents in Royal College programs by accreditation without certification are also eligible. 3. Registered as a post-graduate student at the university where residency training is being taken Email a PDF file format attachment of the complete application to psif@psifoundation.org. The file
attachment must not be a scanned copy. Please note the file attachment in PDF format must be less than 5 MB in size.
PSI no longer requires a hard copy of the application; therefore, please include all signatures in the PDF. You may need to email the signature page separately, if dictated by file size.

NOTE: All research-related grant applications, letters of intent, contracts and agreements requiring an institutional or organizational signature must submit related documents to the Office of Research Services for review and approval. Requests for institutional signature should be received a minimum of five to ten business days before the
posted Sponsor deadline. Please see Western Research's website regarding the institutional signatory process for more details. Specific opportunities may have their own timelines and requirements for submissions. A ROLA Proposal submitted by the PI and bearing department and faculty approvals is required. |
