VPR Conference & Workshop Support

University College Tower at Western University.

Western Research/Office of the Vice-President (Research) will consider requests from faculty members, or other units, or groups at Western University for support regarding research conferences or other research-related events (e.g., training workshops) hosted at/by Western University. Requests must be submitted to the Faculty Associate Dean Research (ADR) who will review the application, and if it is supported by the Faculty, submit it to the office of the Vice-President (Research).

This support is subject to consideration of the noted criteria noted and the availability of funds. Please ensure that applications have been made to any potential external funding sources before requesting funds from Western Research. Those requesting support should complete the application form, including a budget for the event, and clearly indicating sources of support and how Western Research support and how the assistance from Western Research will be utilized.

The maximum request per grant is $5,000.

Eligibility

Applicants may include students, staff, or faculty. All applications must be forwarded to your Faculty Associate Dean (Research) to be reviewed. If the Faculty supports the event funding request, the application will be submitted to Office of the Vice-President (Research) by the Associate Dean Research (or designate).

Submission Procedures

This is an open competition and applications are accepted throughout the year. Applications should be completed according to the posted instructions. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all conditions are met, and that the application is complete and submitted as required.

Applicants must submit applications to the Faculty Associate Dean (Research) to be reviewed. If the Faculty supports the event funding request, the application will be submitted to Office of the Vice-President (Research) via the Internal Grants online submission portal by the Associate Dean (Research) or their RO/designate.

Final Reporting

Within three months of the conference or workshop event, recipients must submit a final report. Final reports are submitted using the online submission form.
