The purpose of the Call for Proposals is intended to advance AECL?s S&T priorities through the use of AECL?s facilities and expertise. Collaborations that are accepted in this Call are organized through the either a university, federal government laboratory, non-profit research organization, or any combination thereof, who act as the primary contact organization (proponent), and a third-party participant brought on by the proponent, who acts as the secondary contact

Three types of R&D projects will be considered through the Call for Proposals process: Basic Research, Applied Research, and Experimental Development. All Proposals must be received via email at on or before June 30, 2013

Application Details: Proponents that are responding to the Call for Proposals must be organized in a manner that combines either a university or federal government laboratory or institution, or both, acting as the primary proponent in the collaboration, and a third-party participant, namely Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) or non-federal institutions, such as provincial laboratories and non-profit research institutions, acting as the secondary organization in the collaboration. The lattermost purpose for the Call is to leverage Canadian nuclear R&D capabilities to advance AECL?s nuclear S&T priorities.The Call for Proposal Form must be used to submit proposals to AECL. The form can be found attached as Appendix F to the Guidebook. When examining the form, please note that AECL has asked how the proposed project aligns with and enhances AECL S&T priorities, if the project is aligned with one of the identified focus areas and within which PAA it applies, the facilities that will be used for the project. NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
