The purpose of the Evoking Empathy Aging Simulation Lab is to help you understand what it feels like to be old. This online lab was created by 42 students in the Aging Body course at the School of Health Studies in 2020-21 under the direction of Dr. Aleksandra Zecevic and teaching assistant Christina Winger. The aim is to help you personally experience the most common age-related changes, improve your knowledge and understanding of the aging process, and possibly evoke empathy. This will help you become more compassionate towards older adults in your family, neighborhood and community, ultimately reducing societal ageism. The website is interactive and you are encouraged to reflect and provide testimonials about your experiences on the Lab’s Facebook page.
Thank you for your willingness to be part of reducing ageism everywhere.
