The Laboratory for Well-Being and Quality of Life in Oncology
Established in 2010, research conducted in
this laboratory directly relates to a broad array of issues that influence
one's well-being and quality of life.
Similar to the VPPL, our working group involves graduate students,
medical students, residents, and faculty from Health Sciences and the Schulich
School of Medicine. A primary thrust of
work conducted centers directly on reducing the impact of illness, disease, and
the consequences of treatment on the person and members of her/his family. In pursuing this work, the concept of
disablement and applications that evolve from the International Classification
of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) are fundamental and foundational
to the efforts of the lab.
