Three weak tornadoes confirmed on June 16 in southern AB
The NTP has confirmed that three brief, weak tornadoes occurred with the storms in southern AB on June 16. The tornadoes were confirmed based on visual evidence and no damage was reported or found by survey teams. Accordingly, an EF0-Default rating has been assigned for each.Additional details are provided in the event summaries below, along with a regional map. Description: Witnesses reported a tornado south of Tilley and captured video and photos of the associated funnel cloud aloft. No damage has been reported. An NTP survey team searched the area for signs of damage on June 17, 2026, and observations are currently being analyzed. The preliminary EF-Scale assessment is EF0-Default. Start time is based on witness reports. Satellite imagery review is pending. A second tornado was produced by the same parent storm further to the southeast.
