Sexual Wellness Fair

About the Event

Thursday, February 9 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
in the University Community Centre (UCC) Atrium

The Gender-Based and Sexual Violence Education team is hosting a Sexual Wellness Fair on February 9 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the UCC Atrium. Lots of great campus and community partners will be there sharing information on sexual health and wellness. The Health and Wellness Clinic will be offering HPV vaccinations for those eligible* and free STI testing. There will be games to play, prizes to win and lots of pleasurable information to learn.

Health & Wellness is offering the HPV Vaccine (Gardasil® 9) for FREE* for a limited time. The HPV vaccine is the only vaccine that can reduce your risk of cancer. HPV is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the world. For a limited time, certain groups are eligible for the HPV vaccine (Gardasil® 9) at no cost (regular cost is over $600). For more information on HPV visit the Middlesex London Health Unit (MLHU) Website.

*HPV Vaccine Eligibility: Females born in 2002, 2003 or 2004 and Males born in 2004 are eligible for the free HPV vaccine. Must be an Ontario resident to qualify for the free HPV Vaccine. If you are not an Ontario resident but are opted-in to Purple Care as a full-time undergrad Western student, Purple Care will cover up to 80% of the cost.

If you are looking to get vaccinated, bring your health card and student card with you.

HIV testing will also be offered for priority populations (men who have sex with men, injection drug users, Indigenous, African, Caribbean, or Black individuals, or women who engage in high-risk activities). For more information about HIV testing, visit the London InterCommunity Health Centre website.
