SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS

Own Your Future welcomes partnerships with Western faculty, staff, and graduate students (and occasionally with external partners) who have expertise in the five competency pillar areas. Partners who get involved as subject matter experts might contribute in the following ways:

  • Offer customized workshops or discussions for graduate students
  • Integrate Own Your Future into academic programs
  • Support the development of curriculum and learning outcomes for Own Your Future

 

ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT

We continually seek to engage with alumni who have graduated from doctoral programs and wish to share their career stories with current graduate students. Additionally, we work closely with programs and departments to coordinate alumni discussion panels. Please reach out for more information!

 

EXTERNAL INSTITUTIONS

The Own Your Future team is happy to share our work with the academic community beyond Western. We want to contribute to the growing body of resources that help graduate students recognize, develop, and articulate their professional skills and competencies.

If you are an educator or staff member interested in using the Own Your Future program structure and/or Self-Assessment at your institution:

  • Own Your Future materials are available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-Share-Alike license, which permits users to adapt and build upon our work non-commercially, as long as Western University is credited, and any new creations are licensed under the identical terms.
  • Own Your Future is distributed under the terms of a Material Transfer Agreement, which permits users to use the OWN YOUR FUTURE watermark along with the curriculum and Self-Assessment.
  • In the spirit of sharing, we kindly request that individuals share back their work to include in our repository so that others may see how you are using our work.
  • This option does not permit the use of the OWN YOUR FUTURE logo.
