Internship - Students

The Fraunhofer Project Centre @ Western is the place to come for the opportunity to spend a semester abroad and work with research professionals, in and up and coming area of mass production of fibre reinforced plastic, connected to the North-American engineering industry.

With state of the art technology, you will have the chance to learn new manufacturing techniques for fibre reinforced thermosets and thermoplastics for use in many industries. Working together with the employees from Western University, you will also be able to gain insight into a top Canadian University.

Once you have been accepted into the internship program, Western University will process your visiting graduate student admission and issue you a "Letter of Acceptance" which you will need to submit with your online application for a Canadian study permit. Following receipt of the "Letter of Acceptance" from Western you will receive a letter from Fraunhofer ICT with more information about what documents you are required to submit to Fraunhofer ICT. You will be provided with flight information during the Fraunhofer ICT employment process by Ms. Gabriele Reuther (for contact information please see below).

  • You must leave Canada no later than the day that your visiting graduate student enrollment ends.
  • A Canadian study permit is required for this internship. - Instructions for how to obtain the study permit will be provided by Western University when your visiting graduate student admission is completed.
