This year’s conferences will have three types of oral presentations: Elevator Pitches, Oral Presentations, and Poster Presentations.
*All slides for the both the oral and elevator presentations must be submitted to rreyno6@uwo.ca by March 6th, 2026 by 11:59 PM ET.*
If you are presenting an oral or elevator presentation please use the Western University presentation template (https://brand.westernu.ca/templates/presentations.html) or make sure slides are formatted in a Wide Screen (16:9) format (found in the design section of PowerPoint – under slide size).
Elevator Pitches: These presentations are short 5 minute talks. Time for questions will depend on the number of accepted submissions. This information will be sent out to presenters upon acceptance. Presenters will be given a “1 min remaining” warning.
Oral Presentations: These presentations are 10-12 min talks with 2-3 minutes for questions. Specific timing will be sent out with confirmations, as this will depend on the number of accepted submissions. Presenters will prepare a presentation. Presenters will be given a “2 min remaining” warning.
Poster Presentations: Posters will be accepted in all sizes, however typical standard scientific poster size is 36 inches by 48 inches (91.4cm x 121.9cm), typically in a landscape orientation. Poster’s will be presented during a traditional poster session and will remain up for reading throughout the day of the conference. Presenters can either chose to bring their own previously printed poster or take advantage of discounted printing offered through Mercury Blueprinting! Materials to mount your poster will be provided.

We are also excited to be partnering with Mercury Blueprinting to offer discounted printing and poster delivery for the conference!

HRSGRC conference presenters can print posters (full colour, standard 36’x48’, gloss or matte text poster) with Mercury for $36.00 + HST. This deal will be available to conference presenters from February 26th – March 9th, 2026. If posters are submitted within this time window, we will also be providing conference attendees with the option of free delivery of their poster. Posters will be delivered to myself (Rachel) 2 days before the conference and stored in a safe spot within Elborn college. Poster submitted outside this time window unfortunately will not receive discounted printing and the presenter will be responsible for the cost and picking up the poster.
If you choose to submit your file online:
You will be required to provide Mercury the following information in the Instructions Panel online:
-Name
-Title of Poster
-Western Email
-Gloss or Matte text
-Prefer to have the poster delivered to Elborn or pick it up yourself
-The HRSGRC + Mercury code
Payments for poster printing will be directly handled by Mercury.
