Renewed partnership between Western’s Faculty of Health Sciences and the University of Bath
On May 5, 2026, Western University renewed a partnership and formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Bath, UK, during a visit from Dr. Shaun Boe, the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences. Along with Dean Boe, the MoU was signed by Professor Manuel Barcia Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) and Professor Deborah Wilson, Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences at the University of Bath.
The two institutes are building on over seven years of partnership, which has led to collaborative research, joint supervision of postgraduate students, guest lectures, virtual and in-person student placements, internships and joint seminars.
During the visit, Dean Boe met with colleagues at the University of Bath from the Institute of Policy Research, Centre for 21st Century Public Health, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, International Relations Office and the Departments of Health, Psychology, and Social & Policy Sciences to discuss mutual goals around research and education.
"We look forward to a productive collaboration with our colleagues at the University of Bath," said Dean Boe. "This partnership will elevate our shared research priorities to a global scale, ultimately addressing key issues we face related to our health and healthcare."
"Having built strong foundations with Western University we’re keen to expand this international partnership across our respective faculties and wider universities," said Professor Wilson. "Through our mutual ambitions and complementary areas of expertise across health and social sciences we can extend the global impact of our collaborative research and education initiatives, and I look forward to seeing the relationship go from strength to strength."
