Biography: Dr. Diallo Mamadou Oury is President of the Guinean National Association for Ebola Survivors (Réseau National des Associations des Survivants d’Ebola de Guinée - RENASEG). He is a graduated in Medicine from Gamal Abdel Nasser University of Conakry and has been interested in qualitative and clinical research since his student days. In 2012 he supported a study ''The management of early postoperative complications of appendectomies in the general surgery department of Ignace Deen National Hospital,” assisting in the consent of participants. In 2016, he became President of the Ebola Survivors' Association in Matoto Commune and organized and led numerous workshops and seminars on the management of sepsis and the management of potentially endemic diseases. The sensitization and mobilization of survivors and their family members to participate in research is a major concern for Dr. Diallo, in particular with respect to the collection of sperms and bodily fluids and inquiries into the sexual behavior of participants. These have been recurring themes and components of research with survivors of Ebola in the countrry.

Biography: Dr. Francine Ntoumi is a Congolese infectious diseases specialist with over 40 years’ experience developing and leading public health research capacity in Africa. Ntoumi was the first Sub-Saharan African woman to receive the Georg Foster prize, for her work creating networks to combat infectious diseases across Africa. She is widely recognized for her leadership on best ethics and research practices related to infectious diseases across Sub-Saharan Africa. She is the President of the Congolese Foundation for Medical Research, which she founded in 2008. Since 2014, she has been a professor and researcher at the Marien Ngouabi University. She is a member of numerous scientific committees, including the Global Health Scientific Advisory Committee of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She has acted as coordinator for the Central Africa Network on Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and Malaria (CANTAM) and is currently in her fifth year as coordinator Pandora-ID-Net (Pan-African network for rapid research, response, relief and preparedness for infectious diseases epidemics).

Biography: Professor Michael Clarke has worked as a senior executive within the Canadian government and has held numerous university positions with over 20 years of progressively increasing responsibilities. He brings together a successful record of research productivity and academic achievements with experience in university administration and corporate management. Dr. Clarke has experience in leading complex interdisciplinary research teams, developing and implementing large and small-scale research programs with a clear focus on policy influence. He has had extensive involvement with governance in both Canadian and global forums, within the public and private sector and has directly overseen and managed multi-million dollar research programs in Canada and internationally. Dr. Clarke, as a leader in academia and government, has an international network of colleagues, collaborators and partners in global health research and education.
