Honorary Degrees
The Senate Honorary Degrees Committee invites the submission of nominations from members of the University community.
In considering making a nomination, please be mindful of the Principles and Criteria for Selection of Honorary Degree Recipients.
In selecting recipients, the University aims to recognize individuals whose accomplishments, activities, and impact embody Western’s values and aspirations. Consideration should be given to the alignment of a nominee’s accomplishments, activity and impact with the goals and aspirations included in Western’s strategic plan.
In choosing recipients for this honour, the University is also guided by the principle that in honouring individuals for their contributions, the University is also honouring itself by its association with people of such special merit.
Nominations must be submitted using the Honorary Degree Nomination Form. Please note that nominations are to be held in strictest confidence.
