Student Reflections
Reflection is a core element of experiential learning and professional growth. By taking time to reflect, students gain insight into their strengths, challenges, behaviours, and thought processes. Reflection helps them make meaning of their experiences, identify and refine their skills, strengthen their professionalism, and plan intentionally for the future.
For Arts & Humanities students, reflective practice is especially valuable. It helps them articulate the versatile “soft skills” they develop through their studies—and understand how these abilities translate to a wide range of professional settings.
Throughout their experiential learning (EL) opportunities, SASAH students submit short reflections and reports. Upon completing their EL requirement—a minimum of 240 work hours across one or two internships—third- and fourth-year students produce extended video or written reflections that highlight the depth and impact of their experiences.
