Join the Centre for Animals on the Move where you can learn about our interdisciplinary approach to studying how, when, where, and why animals make their big and small journeys around the globe.

Learn about the ways we study animal movement and migration.

We are a welcoming and collaborative group of researchers interested in all aspects of animal movement, ecology, and conservation. We welcome new trainees to work on a diverse suite of projects and research topics.

We offer a comprehensive training environment where students are able to learn in a variety of ways. Specifically, our experts offer undergraduate and graduate training in field, lab, and computational methods. For MSc and PhD, we offer highly competitive fully funded packages and have a well-developed system for funding undergraduate summer research internships.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: LAURA ROBAYO-NOGUERA

Laura is a first year Psychology master’s student at Western University in the Branch lab. She is interested in animal behavior and cognition in different animal models, and now she is investigating spatial cognitive performance and secondary sexual traits in black-capped chickadees.

Laura recently recieved a Student Research grant from the American Ornithological Society to further support her reserach in avian biology. Congratulations, Laura!

Where is the Centre for Animals on the Move?

The CAM is affiliated with Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. The facilities we use, and the offices of faculty and students are spread across Western, but the “hub” of the CAM is in the Collip Building.
