Marieke Mur

Picture of Marieke MurMarieke Mur is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology at Western University, with a cross-affiliation at the Department of Computer Science. Her work bridges cognitive and computational neuroscience with a focus on visual cognition.

Dr. Mur aims to understand how the human brain transforms sensory signals from the outside visual world into meaningful representations that support cognition and action. Research in her lab combines psychophysics, neuroimaging, and computational modeling to study the neural computations that give rise to our understanding of the visual world. Dr. Mur’s research has been published in Neuron, Nature Neuroscience, and The Journal of Neuroscience. Her work was previously funded by the British Academy and the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research. Her research program is currently funded by NSERC and the CFREF BrainsCAN initiative.
