Academic Counselling

The School of Health Studies is committed to supporting its students when it comes to managing academics. For the 2021-22 academic year, we will be offering a mixture of online and in-person services.

Service Updates:

At this time we are experiencing higher than normal volumes of requests for support.

  • Students looking to request a one-on-one appointment may experience wait times of 1-2 weeks
  • Students waiting for a reply to an email request for support/information are asked to be patient as we will be responding to emails in the order in which they are received
    • Duplicate emails regarding the same issue/concern will slow down our ability to address all requests

One-on-One Appointments

Students are able to request a one-on-one appointment with an academic counsellor to discuss and receive support for a variety of issues related to their academic success. These appointments may be requested up to two weeks in advance of the appointment time.

Once a student books an appointment, an email will be sent to the student's UWO email account approximately 12 hours in advance with instructions for joining the meeting. Students must sign into Zoom using their UWO login credentials in order to join the meeting.

Live Chat Support

During Selected Times

The Health Studies Academic Counselling Team is pleased to offer a live chat - through Microsoft Teams - to assist students with answers to quick questions or finding information. Students are asked to adhere to the chat schedule so that we can provide the appropriate level of service. Messages left outside of the dedicated chat schedule will be deleted.
