Western has three Master’s degree programs that are accredited by the Vector Institute as programs in Artificial Intelligence.
Master of Data Analytics
The Master of Data Analytics (MDA) program is a one-year professional science master’s program, which will provide you with the skills needed to be proficient in technical data analytics and apply those skills in a specific field, or as a generalist practitioner. Experiential learning in the summer term will ensure that you are ready to transition into a data analytics career in the public or private sector.
Collaborative Specialization in Machine Learning in Health and Biomedical Sciences
Nine graduate programs across the Faculties of Science, Health Sciences, Engineering, and the Schulich School of Dentistry and Medicine are offering a graduate Collaborative Specialization that provides training in modern machine learning approaches to genomic, physiological, imaging, and behavioral data. Students need to be admitted and fulfill the requirements of one of the participating graduate programs. Additionally, they will take one foundational, and one applied machine learning class, and receive training in entrepreneurial, ethical, and project management aspects to prepare them for careers in this rapidly growing field.
Collaborative Specialization in Artificial Intelligence (AI)
The Department of Computer Science (CS) and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) offers a Graduate Collaborative Specialization in Artificial Intelligence (CSAI). This collaborative program provides training in artificial intelligence methodologies and enabling technologies. Students need to first be admitted to the Master’s degree program in CS or ECE. They will fulfill the requirements of their home program plus take the additional requirements specified by the collaborative Specialization. Upon graduation, students receive a degree in their home department with the annotation Artificial Intelligence. For more information, see the collaborative specialization website.
