Each school can send one team to drop in (when the room is available) to play each other in a quick game of trivia.
Each match will take approximately 10-15 minutes.
If there is a game in progress, you can wait outside the room or return later.
Teams can consist of as few as 2 students or as many as 10 students. Schools are encouraged to send as strong a team as possible (not necessarily a larger team) that will have a time window where they are available together.
School teams divide into two smaller teams to face off in a friendly battle.
Each smaller team (of up to 5 players) gets one opportunity to answer each question for a total of two guesses per school team.
The points for both smaller teams are added together and will count toward the school team’s total. Therefore, it is beneficial to have balanced teams for your friendly trivia match.
The game will consist of 20-40 questions and students will typically have a maximum of 3 seconds to buzz in to answer a question. Additional time will be given where appropriate such as a math-based question.
There will also be a timed question at the end of the game that will only be used as a tiebreaker if needed.
Questions
All questions will be based on the Ontario secondary science curriculum which includes some math-based questions.
