As you embark on your journey at Western, there are a few essentials you'll need to navigate campus life. One of the most important is the Western ONECard. Think of it as your key to all things Western—your student ID, library card, meal plan access, and much more. In this blog, we’ll introduce you to the Western ONECard, its perks, and how to make the most of it.
What is the Western ONECard?
The Western ONECard is your official student identification card at Western University. It's much more than just a photo ID—it's a multifunctional card that gives you access to a wide range of services and facilities on campus.
How to Get Your Western ONECard?
Getting your Western ONECard is easy. If you're a new student, you can submit your photo online through westernone.uwo.ca before arriving on campus. Your photo will stick with you throughout your time at Western, so choose wisely and be sure to follow the photo instructions and uploading guidelines. Once your photo is approved, your card will be ready for pick-up from August 28 (if ordered before August 2nd!). To pick up your Western ONECard, you must present one piece of government-issued photo identification, such as a driver’s license, citizenship card, passport, or other government-issued photo ID. If you haven’t already, be sure to order your card asap!
Perks and Uses of the Western ONECard:
1. Identification
Your Western ONECard is your primary form of identification on campus. You'll need it for exams, accessing certain buildings, and confirming your student status.
2. Library Access
With your Western ONECard, you have access to all Western Libraries. Whether you're checking out books, using study spaces, or accessing online resources, your ONECard is your key to the wealth of knowledge Western offers.

Your Western ONECard is linked to your meal plan, allowing you to easily purchase food at various dining locations across campus. Simply swipe your card, and the cost will be deducted from your meal plan balance.
