Theme Proposal Timelines
The February 2022 application will follow the timeline, below.
Not all proposals worthy of funding can necessarily be funded in a given year. The annual cycle will provide opportunity for their timely resubmission.
February 2022 Competition Timeline
March 14, 2022
Applications are due from the principal applicant (commonly the proposed Theme Leader).
March 21-25, 2022
The Academic Steering Committee interviews the principal applicants.
April 11, 2022
Successful principal applicants are notified.
April-May, 2022
Confirmation of participating Western Fellows and Visiting Western Fellows.
May 2, 2022
Call for Western Academy Postdoctoral Scholars applications.
June 13, 2022
Western Academy Postdoctoral Scholars applications are due.
July 2022
Selection of Western Academy Postdoctoral Scholars
September 1, 2022, January 1, 2023, or September 1, 2023
Official first day of theme and core team activities.
