Dr. Amin Hassan Zadeh is presently a visiting associate professor at Pennsylvania State University's Smeal College of Business. From 2011 to 2019, he served as a faculty member at the National University of Iran's (now Shahid Beheshti University) Department of Actuarial Science. Amin has supervised more than 20 master's thesis and 4 Ph.D. actuarial science students. From 2014 to 2018, Dr. Hassan Zadeh served as the Iranian Society of Actuaries' president. He has a strong background in the insurance industry in addition to his research and teaching. He is a Certified Appointed Actuary in Iran as well as an ASA and ACIA. Amin is interested in researching life insurance mathematics, predictive analytics in insurance, modelling and forecasting mortality rates, and quantitative finance in insurance.
