Life Insurance Premium Rates Effective May 2021

Rates for insurance are based on claims experience and each year the proposed changes are reviewed and negotiated to achieve the best outcome for our covered employees.

Effective May 1, 2021, the premiums will be changing as follows:

  • Basic Life Insurance premium decreasing by 10.5%
  • Optional Life Insurance premium increasing by 5%
  • Dependent Life Insurance premium decreasing by 6.2%
  • Voluntary Personal Accident Insurance will remain unchanged

You will find more information about your insurance coverages by logging in to My Human Resources. Choose Benefits and Wellness, then select Benefits Summary to see your coverage. Click on the specific benefit type to see details.

You may also view all benefit costs on the Your Benefits webpage on the Human Resource website.  Choose your employee group, then select Benefit Costs from the list.

By June 1st, you will receive your 2020 Total Rewards Statement mailed to your home. It contains details about the annual cost to you and to Western for life insurance and other benefits.
