Sports & Recreation Strategic Plan

London, ON - Sports & Recreation at Western University has been undergoing a strategic planning process for the past 12 months, to ensure the area aligns with Western's new Strategic plan: Towards Western at 150, as well as the Student Experience Strategic Plan, and to set our Game Plan for the next six years.

We are pleased to announce that our plan has launched and we look forward to working towards positioning Western University Sports & Recreation as a leader in sport and recreation in Canada.

Our vision is to create communities of belonging where all Western Mustangs thrive.

This plan draws upon the data collected throughout the process from the broad-based consultation work that took place over the last 12 months including a student survey, focus groups, stakeholder feedback, environmental scans and more; as well as the information that was gathered during the development of the Weese Report, the development of the previous Sports & Recreation strategic plan, and the 2020 Sport Review. We wanted Sports & Recreation stakeholders to have lots of opportunity to contribute to the evaluation and development of the area and we so appreciate the perspectives that everyone brought to this collaborative process.

We will be sharing updates on our new strategic plan website about our path forward: Strategic Plan for Sports & Recreation: Game Plan 2023-2028.
