The Royal Society of Canada Campus Visit

The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) was established under an Act of Parliament in 1883 as Canada’s National Academy.  It is the senior collegium of distinguished scholars, artists and scientists in the country. The Society is committed to the promotion of learning and research in the arts, the humanities and the natural and social sciences.

September 22, 2016 - Royal Society of Canada Visits Western

Western is pleased to welcome Darren Gilmour, Executive Director of the RSC, along with two members of the RSC Secretariat to our campus on September 22nd.  They will join the RSC Foreign Secretary, Dr. Jeremy McNeil (department of Biology) in delivering a talk about the mission and vision of the society, its role as our National Academy, international relationships with other academies, and opportunities for Western researchers within their three main awards programs. 

A lunch celebration will take place in honour of the Western members of the RSC 2016 Class.
