Judo, the "Gentle Way", is a Japanese sport most known for its throws and submission. Judo is a safe and fun way to stay active and fit while learning practical self-defense. The Western Judo Club will be focusing on recreational fitness, well-being, and technical themes of Judo while teaching techniques based on the International Judo Federation (IJF) and the Kodokan. In a positive and fun group atmosphere, we will strive to improve your strength, balance, agility, and over all fitness through the stress relieving practice of Judo.
* the cost of required uniform (although coordinated by the club) is the responsibility of the club member.

About the President
Hi, my name is Alexandra and I am the 2019-2020 president of the Western Judo Club! I’m currently a 4th-year student doing an Honors Double Major in Environmental Science and Ecosystem Health. I’ve been a part of the Western Judo Club for a total of 3 years and I have been practicing judo for 17 years while successfully obtaining my brown belt (Ikkyu). For 2 out of the 3 years with the Western Judo Club, I had the opportunity to be part of the executive committee as VP communications. As president, I hope to share my skills with all members while maintaining a fun environment where everyone can grow and learn together. While my competing days are over, I’m eager to get back on the mats and hopefully share something with you that will last a lifetime.
