Missions

EU Missions are a new way to bring concrete solutions to some of the EU/world's greatest challenges. They have ambitious goals and will deliver concrete results by 2030. The five EU Missions are as follows:

  1. Adaptation to Climate Change
  2. Cancer
  3. Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030
  4. 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030
  5. A Soil Deal for Europe

Partnerships

European partnerships bring together private and/or public entities to address the world's most pressing challenges through joint research and innovation initiatives. The goal of partnerships is to enable the European Commission (EC) and entities from European Union (EU) member states, associated countries, the private sector, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders to develop a common vision, gather necessary investments, and implement initiatives through joint activities.

50 European partnerships were launched under the first Horizon Europe strategic planning period (2021-2024). The Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2025-2027 identifies nine additional European partnership candidates.

See ISED Canada's EU Partnerships page for more information and partnership funding models for Canadians.
