2023 Paul de Mayo Award for Excellence Awarded to Dr. Kenneth Chu
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Kenneth Chu has been honored with the 2023 Paul de Mayo Award for Excellence, the highest recognition for a graduate student in Western University’s Department of Chemistry.
Dr. Chu earned his Ph.D. in chemistry at Western University in August 2023, focusing on luminescent materials. He now works at the National Research Council of Canada’s Clean Energy Innovation (CEI) Research Centre, developing electrocatalysts for CO2 conversion to support Canada’s net-zero emissions goal by 2050.
At the CEI Research Centre, Dr. Chu advances sustainable technology through AI-accelerated materials discovery, combining robotics and high-throughput experimentation to efficiently discover new catalyst materials.
